Here we share our hospitality and make everyone feel at home. The Mühle is a place for young and ou d, for foodies and epicureans, for beer drinkers and wine lovers. It is more than a restaurant;
It is a place where stories are told.

A story dating back to 1492

The Etzenrather Mühle (formerly Piepers Mühle) takes its name from the nearby Dutch village of Etzenrade. First mentioned in 1492, the mill had an eventful history, with several devastations by fire and rebuilding. In the early 17th century, the mill was completely renovated. The Piepers family lived in the corn mill for more than 250 years. The dwelling house, which was rebuilt in 1938, still symbolises this long family history.

From water mill to restaurant

The Etzenrather Mühle was once a successful water mill, powered by the Rodebach river, with two grinding runs. However, this tradition ended in 1965, after which the mill was transformed into an atmospheric restaurant. The mill's authentic details and stones still recall its rich history. Since then, the Mühle has been a place where guests enjoy tasty dinners and unforgettable feasts away from the daily hustle and bustle.

A new future for The Mühle

In 2024, we have renamed the Etzenrather Mühle restaurant: the Mühle. With this we are starting a new chapter, in which hospitality and nostalgia take centre stage. We cordially invite you to come and taste the unique atmosphere. In addition, we are happy to share stories about the special history of this beautiful location.
